Synopsis

Slim Duane, a wandering cowpuncher in search of his stolen horse, is forced by a fugitive to exchange clothes and finds himself stranded and broke in a town. He is seen by Eben Purkiss, who mistakenly identifies him as the fugitive (Matt Holden) and rides for the sheriff. At Ma Findlay's, Holden, identifying himself as Slim Duane, joins the sheriff's posse. Anne, a restaurant owner who gives Slim a meal, warns him of the posse, and he tricks them into following his horse and escapes from Holden. With the aid of "Coarse Gold" Charlie, Slim finds a smugglers' hideout where the real sheriff, Findlay, is being held captive. Slim prevents the lynching of Holden and is happily united with Anne.
