Synopsis
Hezekiah Dill, a nearsighted dreamer, toils as a bookkeeper in the flour mill owned by Hector Sweet, while dreaming of living the life of a "broadway sport" and wooing the boss's daughter Sadie. Dill's dreams are answered one night, when he discovers two crooks breaking into the company safe. Locking them in the vault, Dill absconds with the bank roll he finds on the floor and departs for New York. There he meets the wealthy John Boulder who is seeking a relative to whom he can bequeath his vast estate. Dill is hired by Boulder's attorney to impersonate a nephew, and after the death of the old man they are to split up the proceeds. After many champagne parties, Dill wakes up to find that his New York adventure has been a dream. However, his fantasy of wooing the boss's daughter is fulfilled when the safe is opened, the burglars are captured and Sadie proclaims him a hero.
