Synopsis

Rosalie Ryan, a chorus girl, takes the fancy of Bob Westbrook, the aristocratic scion of a wealthy family. He proposes to her, and she initially refuses, fearing the effects of his drinking. When she is openly insulted by his family, however, Rosalie changes her mind and marries him, hoping to distress the family. Bob's sister, Phyllis, is in love with Martyn Edwards, a bounder who once betrayed Mary Andrews, one of Rosalie's close friends. Rosalie learns that Mary is planning to run off with Edwards and goes to her apartment, hoping to prevent the elopement. Edwards is felled by a pistol shot, and Rosalie takes the blame in order, she thinks, to protect Phyllis. Mary later comes forward, however, and confesses that she accidentally shot Edwards during a quarrel. Both girls are set free, and Rosalie returns to Bob.
