Synopsis

Quiet Dick Vernon, who lives in a cheap New York boardinghouse, spends his vacation at his Uncle Galt's home in the small town of Boonsburg. Dressed in city fashions, Ben is harassed by gossips and chased by village girls whom he ignores, preferring to look for a simple country girl, like the ones he has seen in the movies. He meets Mazie Chateaux, and thinks that she is such a girl, not knowing that she is a performer in a burlesque company stranded in Boonsburg for a few hours. Uncle Galt unexpectedly inherits a million dollars, and gives Dick a large sum if he will return to New York and vicariously live it up for him. Dick goes back to his quiet existence until his uncle visits, wanting to have a good time. After an all night party, Uncle Galt finds Mazie, whom Dick has met again, innocently preparing breakfast at Dick's apartment and insists that they get married, which they do.
