Synopsis
Unable to make an appointment with Eric Byron, New York's leading theatrical producer, stagestruck Sally McAllister answers an advertisement for a maid and discovers that she will be working for none other than Byron himself. Sally falls in love with the eligible bachelor and arranges for Lila Leroy, Byron's leading lady, to take a train to Oakland, California, rather than Oakland, New Jersey. Sally herself goes to Oakland, New Jersey, the site of Byron's latest play, and, donning a blonde wig, she impersonates the missing Lila until the night of dress rehearsal. Her ruse is then discovered, but Eric, who has fallen in love with her, allows her to go on stage.
