Synopsis

Philip Baldwin, superintendent of his father's California fruit ranch, falls in love with Marjorie Jones, who is spending her vacation picking fruit, and jilts Rosemary Church to marry her. The match of business-oriented Philip and fun-seeking, frivolous Marjorie is a bad one, however, and is dissolved shortly after a child is born. Philip engages Mrs. Grotenberg to care for his son, and he falls in love with her in spite of his sister's efforts to interest him in Leila Vale. They are about to be married when Marjorie, whose second marriage also has failed, returns. Mrs. Grotenberg leaves, and the story ends with Philip and his son hoping for the return of "Mama G."
