Synopsis
A bedraggled man wakes up amidst the clutter of his bedroom and immediately turns on his television set. What follows is a series of skits lampooning television programming and commercials, in which many of the central characters resemble the viewer. A morning fitness show is led by an emaciated host whose favorite exercise is to curl up into a fetal position. On a talk show called "Boy's Talk" a group of musclemen are fondled by their female host. In "What's My Sex," a panel attempts to decide whether the contestants are men or women. A hospital drama, "Everybody's Nurse," is also included in the programming. A policeman is interviewed while defecating and later while bathing in paper money. The President of the United States conducts a press conference as his retarded wife is displayed nearby. Another program burlesques a Confederate soldier returning home from war. "The Tomorrow Show," a late-night talk show, features a singer and a surfer. News, weather, and stock market reports are interspersed in the programming. Commercials throughout the day feature the "Old Colonial Dope Company," "Dirt," "Sweat," computer dating, athletic supporters, and peanut butter. The evening closes with a nightly sermonette in which a minister renders his interpretation of the Crucifixion; and the national anthem follows.
