Synopsis

When matador Vasco Lopez secretly marries opera singer Lola Castillo, her mother persuades Lola to annul the marriage on the grounds of class differences. Lola then agrees to marry Captain Alvarez, her social equal. Enraged, Lopez shoots Alvarez, abducts and rapes Lola's sister Maria and becomes an infamous bandit. Meanwhile, Maria dies in childbirth, and Alvarez recovers and marries Lola, who bears their child. When, unbeknown to Lola, the baby dies, the nurse substitutes Maria and Lopez's baby. Several years pass, and Lopez discovers that Alvarez is still alive and returns for revenge. Just as Lopez orders his men to shoot and kill Alvarez and his son, the nurse confesses the truth of the child's paternity. Lopez interjects himself between the bandits and their victims and intercepts the bullet meant for his son.

Sources conflict concerning the actress playing "Señora Castillo": some reviews credit Mayme Kelso, while Wid's and Variety credit Eugene (sic) Besserer.
