Synopsis
Ma Cowan, who believes Luke Barstow shot her husband 20 years earlier, tries to incite her sons to carry on the feud when Billy, the youngest, reaches the age of 21, but to no avail. Hank Tolliver, her unscrupulous brother, though anxious to promote the feud for selfish reasons, declares he wants no part in her revenge. Billy is accused by Tolliver of shooting Luke following a dispute with Luke over a load of hay and his attentions to Barbara, Barstow's daughter. But he eludes the posse and gives rout to Tolliver's men; Barstow reveals Tolliver's treachery, ultimately leading to his arrest.
