Synopsis

Harry Kelly's vocation as a book peddler leads him to a young woman's seminary where he meets Mollie Lester. Later, he meets Mollie again when she is employed as a nurse to the wealthy invalid Crandall Barker. Unknown to Barker, Mollie is the child of the daughter that he had disinherited years earlier. Kelly's cheery disposition charms old Barker so much that he hires him to act as a jester. For his kindness, Kelly thwarts the scheme of the old man's nephew Dana Sneed, the Rev. A. Ginem, and Dr. Newdope to dupe the old man out of his money. After Kelly rescues Barker from an abduction by the Rev. Ginem, he establishes Mollie as the old man's granddaughter. Mollie then becomes the beneficiary of not only the old man's inheritance, but also of Kelly's love.
