Synopsis
Juan Verdigo, a Mexican line-runner who wants to buy the Lassen ranch because of its fine water supply, persuades Dick Lassen, a weakling lad, to part with his interest. Before the deal can go through, however, Dick's older brother, Tom, puts a stop to it. Verdigo's men then try to intimidate the Lassens, and Dick, who thinks that he has killed one of them in a fight, rides over the Mexican border and asks Verdigo for protection. Their mother becomes ill, and Tom goes into Mexico after his brother, finding that he has been ensnared by Rita, an adventuress. Tom breaks up the romance, outwits and outlasts Verdigo, and arranges for Dick to marry Edith Harding, a pure and beautiful American girl.
