Synopsis
While he is driving on the outskirts of the village of Clinton Harbor, Clifford Bennett's car breaks down, and he is towed to town by a girl he has passed on the road. He is amused at the indignation expressed by the townspeople at the opening of a beauty shop and learns that the proprietress is Bonnie Clinton, the girl who aided him. In an effort to stimulate business, she bleaches her hair, arousing the ire of the Ladies' Aid Society; but when they call on her, Bonnie orders them out. Benjamin Flint, local bank president, wants to secure ownership of Bonnie's property, on which he already holds a mortgage, but she refuses to sell. A society lady (Cliff's mother) invites Bonnie to a yacht party, and the ladies are amazed to see Bonnie treated as guest of honor, persuading the spinsters that they need beauty embellishments. Bonnie's business flourishes; she pays off the mortgage and accepts Cliff's marriage proposal.
