Synopsis

John Langdon divorces his wife Claire, whom he incorrectly believes is having an affair with Stanley Merrill. Their daughter Florence is brought up by John and marries District Attorney Bruce Livingston, while Claire, desperate to make a living, secretly runs a notorious gambling resort in the same city. When Edward Hopkins, a political enemy of Livingston, tries to blackmail Florence by threatening to expose her mother, Florence visits the gambling house to check on the truth of Hopkins' story. While she is there, the resort is raided and Florence is arrested, which prompts her husband to file for divorce. At the trial, Claire confesses all, and Florence is reunited with her husband.
