Synopsis

Social butterfly Helen Halverson decides to marry "Big Jim" McKenzie, the boss of her father's logging camp, after Jim is temporarily blinded when he crashes his tobaggon into a tree to avoid hitting her. She has her cousin Adele Grey, who is secretly in love with Jim, persuade him to propose. After this, Jim's sight returns, but on the day his child is born, he becomes blind again. As the years pass, Jim works efficiently, but cannot perceive the love affair blossoming between Helen, frustrated with being married to a blind husband, and his assistant Jean Du Brey. On learning of their plans to leave together, Jim fights Du Brey. Helen's love for Jim is awakened, but she is shot and killed trying to help him. Du Brey dies and his cabin catches fire. Adele finds Jim half-conscious with his sight restored due to his head hitting a table during the fight. In the end, Adele and Jim decide to marry.
