Synopsis
Patrick Muldoon, "The Ear," teaches his daughter Peggy to be an ace safecracker, but after gaining inspiration from the works of Ralph Waldo Emerson, she decides to go straight. Peggy is arrested pulling one last job for a thief known as "The Mask" and is sent to prison for two years. Upon her release, she is taken in by welfare worker Mrs. Benton, who takes Peggy to visit her wayward son Robert in California. Peggy and Robert are married and live happily until the old gang track Peggy down and threaten to reveal her past unless she cracks the safe in her husband's bank. In a battle with the police, gang leader "Soupy" Drane is killed and Robert is revealed to his wife as The Mask. Newly convinced that crime does not pay, the couple return to a normal life.
