Synopsis
Edward G. Salisbury leads an expedition to the outer reaches of civilization: the South Sea Islands. Departing from San Francisco, the expedition makes its first stop in the Marquesas Islands, where the natives have absorbed some of the customs and manners of civilization, and then steams on to the Samoan Islands. Then come the Fiji and Solomon Islands, where cannibals and headhunters can be found. Accompanying the picturesque scenery are scenes of Robert Louis Stevenson's grave, volcanoes, war dances, and other customs of native life.
