Synopsis
O'Grady, an Irish policeman, and Kaplan, a Jewish pawnbroker, bring up a child found on their doorstep. Eighteen years later, Rosie is in love with prizefighter Terry Callahan, although her guardians prefer Moe Levine as a prospective match. A dispute is settled when Rosie declares that the rivals may both escort her to a dress ball; there she meets Tommy Sinclair, a young socialite. O'Grady and Kaplan, resenting Tommy's affections for the girl, pay Sinclair, Sr., a visit, and as a result Tommy chooses to leave home rather than give up Rosie. He arranges a match between himself and Terry, and, to everyone's surprise, he wins the fight. When Rosie's guardians see that she has won $25,000 for them, they welcome Tommy as their son-in-law.
