Synopsis
Sambizanga is a working class neighborhood in Luanda, the capitol of Angola. In 1961 it was the site of the first uprising of the Angolan resistance against the Portuguese colonizers..."Sambizanga" is the story of the coming to consciousness of Maria Xavier as she searches for her husband who has been imprisoned and tortured.
