Synopsis

This nonfiction film is in part compiled from television and motion picture footage. A boxer roams through New York City at dawn; two aging Indians, their faces wrinkled and proud, converse in a cafe; blacks march past rigid policemen in battle gear; and migrant workers amble across fields. Constantly recurring in the film are shots of newspaper clippings, billboards, and television commercials intruding upon landscape and quixotic sequences: desert sunsets, Midwest snowscapes, human faces, an Indian chief in full regalia, and a herd of sheep on a hillside. The film ends with shots of the Vietcong juxtaposed with shots of blacks in groups--both types of "Quixotes" protesting their corrupt societies.
