Synopsis

For several years since she left home, Carmilla has lived with Vera, a lesbian who runs a high-class brothel for businessmen. After learning of her mother's death, Carmilla attends the funeral and meets her stepfather, who suggests that she visit him. Carmilla does so on several occasions, until one evening her stepfather makes advances toward her. Escaping into the street, Carmilla causes him to stumble and be killed by a car driven by Dr. and Mrs. Ek, who have been drinking and do not stop the car. Bent on revenge, Carmilla identifies the culprits, and they take her in to avoid blackmail. Dr. Ek soon develops a passion for Carmilla, while Maria, his wife, takes to drink. One evening, becoming suspicious of their relationship, Maria follows them to their rendezvous, a boathouse. While they make love, Maria bolts the door and sets fire to the building. Carmilla and Dr. Ek burn to death as Maria watches.
