Synopsis
In Asia, as cities grow and natural environments shrink, conflicts surface between human habitats and the natural habitat. The program explores three creatures that live where the human world and the animal world collide. In India, a pack of golden jackals scratch a living on the border of the human world. Secretive and alert, their lives are a frantic struggle to find food for themselves and their hungry pups. In Sri Lanka, a troop of Toque macaques living in the ruins of an historic city are threatened by the pressures of an expanding human world -- sometimes with tragic consequences. For herds of Sri Lankan elephants, their traditional migration paths often bring them into direct conflict with farmers who are desperate to protect their precious harvest from these voracious forest giants. Navigating new trails cut by modern civilization, they must chart a fragile course between their world and that of humans.
