Synopsis

In June 1999, two juvenile pilot whales were stranded near Chatham, Massachusetts, on the Cape Cod coast. Rescue teams led by the Cape Cod Stranding Network and the New England Aquarium treated the whales on the beach and rushed them to Mystic Aquarium's Aquatic Animal Study Center in Mystic, Connecticut, for further care. Once there, scientists and volunteers worked for four months to nurse the whales back to health. The program chronicles the story of the two young whales and the efforts of biologists and volunteers who rehabilitated them and released them back into the ocean.
