Synopsis
The difficulties of the 1982 hot-air balloon trip that Malcolm Forbes made across China are highlighted in this documentary. Forbes, the editor and publisher of Forbes magazine, had previously set six world records in hot-air ballooning. Although the Chinese government secured the initial permission for the trip, local bureaucrats throughout the country frequently denied it because of his proximity to military bases, and in fact, Forbes made an accidental landing at the Beijing base.
