Synopsis
The role that women played in the overthrow of Nicaraguan dictator Anastasio Somoza in 1979 is chronicled. A large number of women were part of the Sandinista rebel force that opposed the brutal Somoza and his oppressive regime, and were essential during the underground campaign and the eventual civil war. Women of all ages, who worked in different capacities are interviewed about their activities during the conflict, and their courage is praised by the men who fought with them.
