Synopsis
As part of Hollywood's infamous "Rat Pack," which included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford, Sammy Davis, Jr. became one of the world's most renowned and controversial entertainers. He became a household name in the 1950s through his hit recordings on the Decca label and was a fixture in top nightclubs around the country. In 1960 Sinatra cast Davis in "Ocean's Eleven," which brought him even more acclaim. In the 1970s and '80s, despite liver disease, hip replacements and money problems, Davis kept performing, even joining up with his old friends for a Rat Pack reunion concert. Davis passed away on May 16, 1990, at the age of 64 and despite making multi-millions, he left behind a massive debt to the IRS, which was finally settled in 1997.
