Synopsis

Two women diagnosed with lupus take a road trip to document the experiences of others with the disease. Taking their inspiration from the late journalist Charles Kuralt, who died from complications of lupus in 1997, Marcia Raymond and Karin Mellberg embark on a trip to increase awareness of this potentially deadly disease, and to help build a community among the more than two million Americans who suffer from it. They travel 3200 miles in an RV to eight cities in California, Nevada and Arizona. There they meet others who endure the symptons, pain, treatment, side effects, flare-ups and recoveries that come with lupus.
