Synopsis

Documentary that celebrates the motion picture combat cameramen who served on the front lines of World War II. The program traces their story from Pearl Harbor to the war's aftermath in devastated Nagasaki. Most of the combat camera operators were enlisted men who were handed cameras instead of guns, given a brief training program and sent into battle armed mainly with Eyemo cameras -- hand-held, hand-wound 35mm machines that carried only two-minute film loads.
