Synopsis
Documentary about shipwrecks in the Great Lakes. The Great Lakes are littered with more than 6,000 shipwrecks, caused primarily by violent storms that produce towering waves and destructive wind gusts. The most infamous phenomenon is know as "November Witch." In 1913 the November Witch swallowed up twelve ships over a four day period. Sixty-two years later, another punishing November Witch caused the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, made famous in a Gordon Lightfoot song.
