Synopsis
Whether they are caught in violent storms, crippled by icebergs, grounded on hidden reefs, or consumed by fire, some commercial fishing boats never make it back to their home ports. The coasts of the Aleutian Islands, located on the western tip of the Alaska peninsula, are littered with shipwrecks. But for some wrecks there remains a glimmer of hope, a possibility that they can be salvaged because the ships ran aground on soft sandy beach instead of the crushing boulders of a remote cliff. The program explores the stories of the men and machines who attempt to nurse these crippled shipwrecks back to life.
