Synopsis
The pilot film for "The Rifleman." The story of Lucas McCain, alias "The Rifleman," and his young son, Mark, and their attempt to begin new lives as ranchers in North Fork, a growing New Mexico town. In the pilot episode, Lucas, newly arrived in North Fork, attempts to win the money he needs to buy a ranch by entering a turkey shoot. He soon finds himself facing the wrath of Jim Lewis, the crooked town boss, who has bet a fortune against Lucas winning. The episode has been re-edited and is broadcast as the first episode of the series.
