Synopsis
Documentary that searches for the truth behind the accusation, trial and conviction of Vincent Simmons, an inmate at Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola. Vincent Simmons, a 45-year-old African-American, born just miles from the prison, is serving a 100-year sentence for the rape of 14-year-old twin sisters, Karen and Sharon Sanders. While Vincent has been in Angola since 1977, he still maintains his innocence and has spent 20 years fighting unsuccessfully for his freedom. It is almost a prison cliche that nearly everyone claims innocence in prison. Yet there is evidence not only in Vincent's stories but from his trial records that Vincent might be telling the truth.
