Synopsis

Real and mythical worlds collide when a mysterious woman arrives in a small Irish fishing village in 1909. Quinn, a grieving widower, and his fishing partner, Willy Stewart, are taken by surprise when their third partner, Dunhill, appears with an unbelievable catch of fish and a mysterious woman. That night, the woman appears to Quinn, as if in a dream, beseeching him to help free her from Dunhill, who wants her for her power. Quinn begins to reacquaint himself with a Celtic legend that would explain her story -- and soon feels compelled to help her. With the help of Jocko, Dunhill's kind-hearted father, the woman is freed. However, Dunhill's selfish doings have seemingly ended her means of returning to her world. The woman is deeply grateful when Quinn offers her a home at his cottage and gives her a name, Mairead.
