Synopsis

When they are put ashore by a mutinous crew of the ship on which they are traveling, John and Alice Graystoke make Africa their home when they are unable to escape. One year later, a son is born to them. Soon after their hut is attacked by a tribe of Bull Apes. John and Alice are killed and their son is taken by Kahla, a female ape who raises him as Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle. Twenty years later, while on a safari, Jane Parker wanders from its safety. She is rescued from impending death by Tarzan, who saves her from a rampaging elephant. Soon she befriends him and teaches him English. Eventually, she decides to remain with him in Africa. The would-be, but unsold, series was to depict their adventures as they defend their jungle domain. In the pilot episode, Tarzan and Jane attempt to stop two ruthless trappers who are seeking the legendary elephant's graveyard.
