Synopsis

Television movie based on Mary McGarry Morris' novel about Marie Fermoyle, a strong-willed but vulnerable single mother in Vermont in the early 1960s, whose loneliness and desire to provide a better life for her three children make her an easy target for a smooth-talking, dangerous drifter. When Omar Duvall enters the lives of the Fermoyle family, he plays into their deepest needs by swearing to help them realize their dreams of a brighter future. But Omar's true story begins to surface and each family member must ask the question: Is he a a decent down-on-his luck salesman or a calculating con-man who is not above killing in order to cover his tracks.
