Synopsis
A film that tells the story of the will to survive by one group of resident Europeans in Southeast Asia who were, among thousands, held captive during World War II by invading Japanese forces. About 30 Dutch, British, and Australian women were captured on Sumatra in early 1942. Their "song of survival" involved the formation a camp choral group under the guidance of Margaret Dryburgh and Norah Chambers, English women who, with only memory as their guide, and with no musical instruments, reproduced scores for their vocal orchestra.
