Synopsis
On July 30, 1945, the U.S.S. Indianapolis was sunk by a Japanese sub. Only 316 men of a crew of over 1200 survived four days in shark-infested waters until they were rescued. The ship's captain, Charles McVay, became the scapegoat for the attack and was court-martialed. The McVay case was reopened in 1999 when surviving crew, recently declassified documents and the school project of a 12-year-old boy helped clear McVay's name.
