Synopsis
Tells the story of an encounter with a young person that influences the work of Impressionist painter Claude Oscar Monet (1840-1926). In 1869, five years before the Impressionist movement is recognized, 29-year-old artist Claude Monet struggles to support his young family and gain recognition by the Paris Salon for his radically different style of painting. However, the Salon rejects his painting, creditors arrive to seize his work and his father cuts his allowance -- his sole source of income. Exasperated, Monet abandons his art, wife and baby, until confronted by Daniel, the son of the landlord. Daniel, a young artist who has experienced strife in his own home, convinces Monet of the importance of family and they encourage each other to hold on to their dreams.
