Synopsis
Presentation of Paul McCartney's symphonic poem, "Standing Stone," performed at London's Royal Albert Hall and featuring the London Symphony Orchestra with 200 voices. Inspired by the Celtic monoliths which dot the British Isles, including the ancient monument Stonehenge, the work has four movements encompassing the beginning of time, the creation, the emergence of humans and culminating with learning the need to love. The performance is accompanied by a documentary that provides an indepth look of McCartney at work. He describes how the piece came into being and how he felt the first time he heard it performed by the London Symphony.
