Synopsis
Documentary about Dr. Michael Swango, currently serving a three and a half year sentence in a Colorado prison on a fraud charge. The FBI is racing against time to collect enough evidence to bring murder charges against him before his release on July 15, 2000. Despite suspicious behavior in medical school, Michael Swango managed to obtain a neurosurgery residency at Ohio State University. During his residency, the hospital launched an internal investigation of Swango, but never notified police. After he received his license, he returned to his hometown of Quincy, Illinois, where he worked as a paramedic. He was soon accused of poisoning a co-worker and sentenced to 5 years for aggravated battery. After his release, Swango found medical jobs in the U.S. and abroad, despite his lack of a license. Swango is under investigation by the FBI for committing 5 possible murders at a New York hospital.
