Synopsis
The life of Edith, a former orphan, is forever changed by a chance encounter with James Percy, a handsome stranger, while she is serving as a companion in an aristocratic family. Ida Glenshaw, a distant cousin who is visiting the household and looks upon James as a potential husband, reminds Edith that James is unobtainable by someone of her lesser stature. A twist of events proves that Edith may be more worthy of James than anyone could have imagined. Set in the late 1850s.
