Synopsis
A series presenting three documentaries on the lives of the two-thousand residents of the tiny rural Chinese village of Long Bow. The first, "Small Happiness," focuses on the stories of two women--mother-in-law Puopuo and sister-in-law Ling Qiao--to show the advances women have mjade within the country over the past 40 years. "To Taste a Hundred Herbs" presents a village doctor's story, providing insight into medical and religious practices in Long Bow. "All Under Heaven" illustrates daily life in the village before, during, and after Long Bow dissolved all of its cooperative enterprises and returned to individual farming.
