Synopsis

Television movie based on a true story about 19-year-old Marita Lorenz, the daughter of a CIA agent, who falls in love with Fidel Castro during the early years of his reign in Cuba and becomes his secretary and lover against the wishes of her parents. She becomes pregnant with his child, and he becomes distant. One night late in her pregnancy, Marita is drugged, kidnapped and forced into labor, waking up in a New York hospital without her child. Emotionally and physically exhausted, she is persuaded by her mother and other CIA agents into believing that Castro had given orders to kill her child. Capitalizing on her anger, the agents convince Marita to seek revenge and train her to assassinate Castro. When she returns to Cuba, Marita confronts him about their child. As she learns the truth about her baby, she is unable to kill him.
