Synopsis

Documentary about the most notorious riot ever in a U.S. prison. After almost 30 years of legal wrangling in the biggest prisoners' rights case ever, the last chapter of the Attica uprising may finally be written. In all, 11 guards and 32 prisoners died during the 5-day seige. Ninety more were seriously injured. To make matters worse, in the aftermath, government officials distorted the facts, only to be rebuked by witnesses and medical evidence. In the first week of 2000, New York State agreed to pay the inmates $8 million to settle the 1974 class action suit and another $4 million for lawyers representing the inmates.
