Synopsis

Documentary that explores the case of Native American activist Leonard Peltier, who supporters say is a victim of a government conspiracy. In 1975, two FBI agents went looking for a man on a South Dakota Indian reservation who was wanted for theft and assault with a deadly weapon. They started following a red vehicle, believed to be driven by the suspect. Then, according to Jack Coler's and Ron Williams' last radio transmission, several armed men got out of the vehicle. A few moments later, the two FBI agents were dead. For two days, the press was banned from the scene. By the time the investigation was over, American Indian activist Leonard Peltier was behind bars, serving consecutive life sentences for the double homicide.
