Synopsis
A program that documents the efforts of balloonists to circumnavigate the globe. The first hour follows attempts made during 1997-98, including the mishaps that frustrated the attempts of British billionaire Richard Branson and Swedish balloonist Per Lindstrand; the explosion of American Kevin Uliassi's balloon after takeoff; and the American adventurer Steve Fosset's unsuccessful 7000-mile trip from St Louis to Russia. The second hour focuses on the team of Brason and Lindstrand and their formal rival, Fosset. It also looks at other teams that made the attempt between 1998-99.
