Synopsis

Exposing the excesses of the South African police state under apartheid, a political drama which unfolds when Marty Strydom, an idealistic university professor from a prominent white South African family, is accused of conspiring to subvert the racist regime after attending an Amnesty International concert in Zimbabwe. He is sent to prison, and is interrogated by the brutal career-driven Colonel Kruger, dedicated to enforcing the rules of apartheid, even to the point of twisting the facts to suit his own purposes. Ten years later, following Strydom's prison suicide, the tables are turned when the Colonel himself is interrogated by a justice-seeking, fellow political prisoner of Strydom's, who had witnessed the young professor's demise under Colonel Kruger's harsh mental and physical torture.
