Synopsis
A movie based on fact, about American Naval Commandeer Jim Stockdale's imprisonment during the Vietnam War after being shot down in 1965 and captured by the North Vietnamese. As the highest-ranking American officer imprisoned, he is tortured and interrogated daily. During his eight-year ordeal, Stockdale organizes a covert system of communication among his fellow prisoners.
Meanwhile, his wife Sybil organizes the wives of POWs and presses the U.S. government to admit that American prisoners are being tortured in Hanoi, and her political battle makes Sybil an international force.
