Synopsis
The first in a series of primetime specials produced jointly by CBS News and Time magazine celebrating the lives and legacies of 100 people who shaped the past 100 years, coinciding with six special issues of Time magazine. The first special reveals the list of the 20 leaders and revolutionaries who most influenced the 20th century and explores the impact and influence their lives had on the country and the world. The chosen 20 are: Winston Churchill, Mohandas Gandhi, Mikhail Gorbachev, David Ben-Gurion, Adolf Hitler, Ayatullah Ruhollah Khomeini, Martin Luther King, Vladimir Lenin, Nelson Mandela, Ho Chi Minh, Pope John Paul II, Ronald Reagan, Eleanor Roosevelt, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Margaret Sanger, Margaret Thatcher, The Unknown Soldier (Tiananmen Square), Lech Walesa and Mao Zedong.
