Synopsis
Documentary that follows two explosive experts working in very different fields. The first, Rich Murphy, is Boeing's chief launch director for the Delta II rocket program. Rich is currently working with a company called Globalstar that needs a payload of telecommunications satellites delivered safely into space. While Rich uses explosives to get rockets off the ground, Kevin Powell uses them on the ground itself, hoping to trigger controlled avalanches, keeping snowy areas stable enough for human use. Kevin was a military munitions expert and has developed a new way to make ski slopes safer. Armed with new types of explosives and launchers, Kevin travels to various ski slopes and mountains to test his invention.
