Master choreographer Marius Petipa's 1880 adaptation of Lord Byron's "Le Corsaire," with its swashbuckling tale of pirates and slave girls, was originally performed before audiences of imperial Russia, yet has been performed infrequently in America. With this re-staging, American Ballet Theatre is only the second non-Russian company to perform the narrative ballet.
